The Story

A Daring Rescue Beyond the Rainforest

Fern the Leopard is the Princess of the Rainforest, but there’s a hole in her family. Her dad and little brother Pine were captured by humans and taken to the zoo years ago. When Fern finds an old book with a heartbreaking photo of Pine behind bars, she makes up her mind: she’s going to rescue them.

With her brave best friend Bella the mouse by her side, Fern sets off on a dangerous journey beyond the rainforest and into the human village. She’ll sneak through a witch’s tower, outsmart a mean tabby cat, swim through underground rivers, and convince suspicious caymans and angry monkeys to trust her — all before she can reach Pine and her dad.

But when the alarms go off, Fern realizes that getting in was the easy part. Getting everyone out will take every friend she has.

For readers ages 7–12 who love animal adventures, brave heroes, and stories about the power of friendship.
